Why Did God Do That?

This Week’s Feature Article by Jack Kelley
I get a lot of questions about the relationship between God and Satan. Most of them are from people who want to know how God can tolerate Satan in His presence, and as far as I can tell the Bible offers no explanation for this. All we know is that Satan regularly comes before the Lord to accuse us and will continue to do so until he’s finally expelled from Heaven at the beginning of the Great Tribulation (Rev. 12:10-11).

Wednesday 13 Nisan. The Betrayal
Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people. Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were delighted and agreed to give him money. He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present. (Luke 22:1-6)
The Messiah And Joseph’s Dream
Posted April 20th, 2012 in Ask a Bible Teacher
Q. When Joseph had his dream about the sun and moon and eleven stars surrounding him, his father chided him saying “Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth” My question is, why would he say that, in that apparently Benjamin was already born, and thus Joseph’s mother was dead?
Tribulation Martyrs
Posted April 20th, 2012 in Ask a Bible Teacher
Q. In Revelation 4 there are the 24 elders, who seem to be the raptured church. Then, in chapter 6, there are martyred souls under the altar who are given white robes and told to wait until their fellow servants are martyred on earth as well. And in chapter 7, there is a vast crowd from all nations and provinces before the Lamb, clothed in white with palm branches in hand, who are believers as well, “coming out of the Great Tribulation.” Who are these different groups?
More On Judging The Church
Posted April 20th, 2012 in Ask a Bible Teacher
Q. I have a question about our judgment before the Millennium. When we get raptured we receive our immortal body which is already the gift of eternal life as I understand it. What will we then be judged on at his second coming? And what other gifts will we receive at this time? Is this possibly the time we will get assigned to our position/level in Heaven and the gift we receive will determine our position?
Satan’s Expulsion From Heaven
Posted April 19th, 2012 in Ask a Bible Teacher
Q. Isaiah 14:12 and Luke 10:18 speak of Satan’s fall from heaven. If Satan was thrown out of heaven, how is he there now accusing us before God? If he was thrown out how is he going to be thrown out again. I know every word of the Bible is true but did God let him back into heaven and if so why?
Holocaust Remembrance Day

Q. Today (April 19) is Holocaust Remembrance Day. I would like to get your opinion why God allowed the Holocaust. It really bothers me, the Jews being his chosen people.
The Throne Of God
Posted April 19th, 2012 in Ask a Bible Teacher
Q. Quoting from Ezek. 28:14 “You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones.” My question is, what could God possibly need protection from? Why would He need Satan’s protection? Are there other guardian cherubs?
Didn’t God Promise Them?
Posted April 18th, 2012 in Ask a Bible Teacher
Q. Didn’t God promise Israel that they would hold the promised land forever? And didn’t He promise David an heir on the throne forever? I know that God can’t lie, but for most of the last 2,000 years, neither has occurred. Why wouldn’t forever include those years as well?
