For the second time in less than a year, Iran’s top naval commander has said Iranian Navy vessels will soon be plying the Atlantic Ocean, having made great strides in recent years in expanding its presence beyond Iranian waters.

Iran has also established close ties with Cuba, another potential destination for an Iranian Navy Atlantic voyage.

“The navy has carried out successful activities in open seas, and in the near future we will witness the presence of the navy in the Atlantic Ocean,” the Mehr news agency quoted Sayyari as saying.

Russia accuses US of justifying terrorism in Syria

Christian News

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the United States on Wednesday of justifying terrorism against the Syrian government and berated Western nations he said had not condemned attacks that killed top members of Syrian President Bashar Assad's inner circle.

Referring to what he said were comments by US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland indicating such attacks were not surprising given the Syrian government's conduct, Lavrov said, "This is a direct justification of terrorism."

Arab League gives PA green light to seek statehood via UN

Christian News

The Palestinian Authority has received a green light from the Arab League to seek UN recognition of a Palestinian state, PA officials said Wednesday.

The officials told The Jerusalem Post that no date has been set for presenting the application to the UN. But one official said that the application would be presented to the UN “probably before the end of the year.” He said that the application would include a request for recognition of Palestine as a non-member state of the UN.

The official voiced confidence that the PA request would be approved by a vast majority of UN members.

“We know we have a big majority in the UN that would vote in favor of Palestinian membership,” the official told the Post.

"The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day." - E. M. Bounds
